An Angel’s Light

Poem by Minahil Mehr

"I dedicate this poem to my best friend who is my one in a million heaven-sent angel to light my life, whom without I would not be the girl I am today, and whom I am forever grateful to."

A figure of light and guidance, by heaven it is sent,

To guide one in the correct direction and from misdeeds, a chance to repent.

A compass and sun within itself, there to shine ever so bright,

Its enlightenment doth illuminate the darkness of the night.

In righteous times doth the figure of light stand by one’s side,

And in times of wrong doth it exist to once more guide.

The heaven sent angel’s light so pure and so rare,

For the ones blessed to have it, doth it provide formidable strength against problems to bare.

The hailed creature majestic and wise,

From the falls against hardships doth it give one the strength to again rise.

A blessing granted to so few, in a million only but one,

An angel’s light is far powerful than that of the sun.
